SCHEDULING & LOCATION
Where are you located?
We are located in Carrollton, TX close to Addison and Farmer’s Branch.
What days of the week do you schedule appointments?
We work by appointment only. We usually schedule design consultations and ordering appointments Tuesday through Friday during the days and some evenings. Sessions are usually scheduled on Saturdays. Other days are available by special arrangement.
When is the best time to commission a portrait of my pet?
Most any time, but most certainly when your dog is new to your household, maybe every year at holiday time and when your dog gets older, but before they are sick. Most importantly, don't wait until it is too late. We hear too many stories from people who wished they had not waited until their dog was too sick for photographs. The years slip by and our pups are old before we know it. Don't wait, contact us today.
COMMISSION SESSION FEES & PORTRAIT PRICING
How much are commission fees and what do they cover?
Our session packages include the design consultation, the session itself, the ordering appointment and credit towards the purchase of your wall portraits. Our most popular session package is a studio session lasting from one to two hours for $350 plus tax. More information on our commission fees and session packages is on the pricing page.
If you’d like more information on the specifics of the packages we offer, either drop us an email or fill out the form on this site to get more information.
Do I have to come in for a design consultation?
We greatly encourage a design consultation prior to your session. This is a time for us to get to know you and your pup. Most importantly, it is a chance for your dog to get used to us and the environment. We find that dogs settle in much faster on the day of the session if we meet ahead of time.
If you decide during the design consultation that our photographic art is not what you are looking for, there is no obligation to schedule a session.
PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS
Generally, what can I expect during my photo session?
If this is your first time commissioning a portrait with a professional photographer who creates custom portraits, you are in for a treat! We spend time getting to know you and your pup. We learn about your dog's personality and create photographic art that shows their personality. We invest a lot of time to create just the right wall collection that tells your dog's story. We promise, you will laugh a lot and have fun, fun, fun!
Where can a session be done?
Most people opt to have a session done in the studio for a more unique look. However, sessions can be done most anywhere. They can be done in your home, in your back yard, in a park or other location of your choosing. Consider how well your dog will handle distractions during the session if you are considering a location other than your home or back yard.
How do I prepare for a session?
We discuss session preparation in detail at the design consultation. We talk about how you should dress for the session, grooming for your dog, treats, toys and how to get your pup all ready for the session day.
Is there a limit to how many dogs you can photograph at one time?
Up to three dogs are included in the session package fee. There is a charge of $20 for each additional animal.
MY DOG'S BEHAVIOR
Does my dog have to be well trained?
It is most helpful if your dog knows basic commands like “sit” and “down” and will come to their name. The better your dog knows basic commands the more time we can spend being creative.
If your dog is shy, does not take commands well or has a short attention span, we will want to make sure you have a long enough session time scheduled so we have enough time to work with your pup.
What if my dog doesn't behave during the session?
We are very patient and we can usually get good images even if your pup doesn't want to cooperate. Unfortunately, we are not miracle workers, so doing any prep work that we may have suggested during your consultation will help. If necessary, the session time can be lengthened or shortened depending on your needs.
VIEWING IMAGES, DECISIONS & PAYMENT
How do I choose images for my wall portraits, wall collections and albums?
We schedule the viewing and ordering appointment about a week after the session. You will first see a slide show of what we think are the best images from your session. We will also show you sample wall collections we designed. These are groupings of your images that we think work best together. We will also show you sample storyboards that we think artistically tells your dog's story. You place your order at this time and payment is due at this appointment.
Can you help me with selecting the best images?
Yes we can! We can make suggestions for your wall portraits, wall collections and image selection for your storyboards and albums. We can also show you how note cards and holiday cards can be made from your images.
What forms of payment do you take?
We accept cash, checks, Visa and Mastercard. There is a $35 fee for returned checks.
