SCHEDULING & LOCATIONWhere are you located? We are located in Carrollton, TX. just north of Beltline Road and off Marsh Lane near where Addison, Dallas, Farmers Branch and Carrollton meet. What days of the week do you schedule sessions? We usually schedule design consultations and image viewings for weekdays and some weeknight evenings. Sessions are usually scheduled on Saturdays. Other days are available by special arrangement. We find these times fit best with our clients' schedules. Do I have to come in for a design consultation? We greatly encourage a design consultation prior to your session. At the design consultation we'll meet you and your pups. Your pup will get to know us a little. We'll learn about your pup's personality and your relationship with them. Based on what we learn from you, we'll make suggestions for images to capture the spirit of your pup's personality and the essence of your relationship. We find having done the design consultation in advance makes the session go much more smoothly. If you decide during the design consultation that our photographic art is not what you were looking for, there is no obligation to schedule a session.
COMMISSION SESSION FEES & PORTRAIT PRICINGHow much are commission fees and what do they cover? At the design consultation we discuss your needs and decide on a length of time for the session that is appropriate to meet those needs. Studio session packages start at $200 for a half an hour and go up to whatever length of time you need. Location sessions are a little more depending on where they will be done, equipment needed and travel distance. Our most popular studio session package is $325 and includes an hour and a half of studio session time. Included in all of our session packages, are an initial design consultation, the image viewing consultation and the photographic session. All session packages include a credit towards the purchase of your wall portrait. If you’d like more information on the specifics of the packages we offer, either drop us an email or fill out the form on this site to get more information.
PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONSHow do I prepare for a session?Humans and dogs need to be groomed as they want to appear in the photograph. Additionally, it is very helpful if the dogs are tired and a little hungry. Be sure to bring favorite toys and treats. Is there a limit to how many dogs you can photograph at one time?Up to three dogs is included in the regular session fee. There may be an additional fee for more than three dogs.
MY DOG'S BEHAVIORDoes my dog have to be well trained? It is most helpful if your dog knows basic commands. The better your dog knows basic commands the more time we can spend being creative. If your dog is shy, does not take commands well or has a short attention span, you may want to purchase a session package with a long enough session time to make sure we have the time needed to work with your pup. What if my dog doesn't behave during the session? My assistant is quite knowledgeable about dog behavior. We can usually get good images even if the pup doesn’t want to cooperate. We highly recommend you play with your pup prior to the session so he/she is tired. For added security you may want to purchase a long enough session package to insure that we have enough time to work with your pup.
VIEWING IMAGES, DECISIONS & PAYMENTHow does the image viewing work? You should come to the image viewing with ideas about your portrait needs. Are there places in your home you want to hang the portraits? Locations at your work you want to place images? Want gifts for family or friends? Holiday cards or note cards? First you will see a "slide show" of images from your session. Then we will go through the images and narrow them down to your favorites. You should bring with you anyone else who would be involved in the decision making process. Can you help me with selecting images for wall portraits, albums or collages?During the image viewing we can make suggestions for digital art, and help design panoramic collages and albums. Additionally, we can show how note cards and holiday cards can be made from your images. What forms of payment do you take?We accept cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard. There is a $25 fee for returned checks.
GETTING STARTEDHow do I get started?Review our Dog Photography Portfolio Get Inspired with our Portrait Ideas Jot down the ID numbers (displayed in Red) of the portraits you like. Go to the web page, "Request a Photo session", and fill out the form. Give as much information as you can. We’ll give you an estimate and set up a time to discuss your relationship with your pup and to meet both you and your dog. |
