It is Spay Day USA. A day to remind you of the importance of spaying and neutering your pet. Wouldn’t be wonderful if some day we didn’t have animal over population? If shelters and rescue groups weren’t overflowing with animals looking for good homes?
We don’t need more animals reproducing. No, a dog or cat does not need to have “just one litter” because you think it is “normal” to do so. No, you don’t need to let your dog or cat have a litter to show your children the “miracle of birth”. There are many other ways to see that without breeding your pet. No, you don’t need to breed your pet to make a couple of extra bucks. No, you don’t need to breed Fido because he is so good looking/well behaved/smart so you have good looking/well behaved/smart puppies to sell.
Please spay or neuter your pets so animal overpopulation is a thing of the past!
PS. The puppies above are a litter of 15 puppies from St. Bernard Rescue. Yes, they are adorable. Some wonderful rescue volunteers worked very hard to raise them and find them homes.
